Aquarius New Moon February 2021

Welcome to the Aquarius New Moon and to a very special moon indeed. Every year we are graced by two moons in the same sign. Last year it was two Cancer New Moons; this year it is two Aquarius Full Moons….to which this particular New Moon is laying the ground work. This is a Moon to set new intentions that shift you out of the limitations imposed by the ego, and have you remembering that there is, in truth, only one person you need to please in this life. That is you.

The Aquarius Moon Cycle

I say this every month, but let’s just recap.

New Moons are the time we lay new seeds of intention in alignment with the universe. We call upon our higher self and guides to help us release, grow, reframe and manifest something new in our lives. On a higher level we are simply calling in more light. Although the time space continuum we live in doesn’t exactly exist in higher dimensions, we have chosen to incarnate in these bodies on this physical plane. Part of what we have chosen to abide by is the construct of time. As such when we lay intentions with the New Moon we allow time to marinate this energy, bringing to us the experiences and shifts necessary for these intentions to come to manifestation with the next Full Moon in the same sign. In the case of this New Moon we will start to feel the soil shifting, new roots awakening and our flowers start to bloom with during a month long period which will kick off with the first Aquarius Full Moon on the 24th of July and will continue with the second Aquarius Full Moon on the 22nd of August.

This is the universe essentially implying there is something big that it is ready to bring through you…something that requires a month of bringing it into the light - and consciousness later this year. This is a New Moon to dream big. As someone once said, if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough. Obviously taken in the sense that the ‘fear’ you might feel has more to do with the ego being called beyond the limitations it has set for itself. Ok, let’s jump into the astrology…

What does an Aquarius New Moon represent?

Firstly there is a lot of chat about Aquarius at the moment, the debate whether we are in the age of Aquarius or not, whether it’s a specific date or not…guaranteed if you feel triggered by any of these questions the ego is at play…and so Welcome to the beauty of Aquarian energy. An energy that wishes to pull us out of egocentricity and into our humanity.

This Moon reminds me of a story from Ram Dass back in the 70’s when there was also a level of hysteria about the 'Age of Aquarius’. He said something like - (I am paraphrasing) "I’m often asked are we in the age of Aquarius, and to that I have no answer - which frustrates people. Then other people ask me if we are heading towards Armageddon, and I also have no answer to that. When I think about it, what does it matter, either way - if we are entering the Age of Aquarius or entering Armageddon - it doesn’t stop the fact that I still need to work on my self.” This beautiful story is almost a parable for this New Moon - it is a calling for us to see beyond social constructs that the ego attaches itself to and in that find a deeper truth.

Aquarius energy is rebellious, it is unconventional and it is, in its purest form, genius. Genius requires us to move out of any state of self-consciousness - which is simply a limitation set around your potential by the ego. It is the need to let go of external validation or the seeking of approval from others. To exist in your most radical and authentic state, which is not a state of ’not giving a f*ck’ but rather a state of such deep care for humanity you venture to look beyond the veil of convention. This New Moon is calling you to step forward, to revel in any feelings of not fitting into societies mould. After all, as Krishamurti so rightly said - ‘It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society’.

This is something I have been pondering, as I’m sure you have to. The society we live in is sick because it is primarily driven by the ego - which comes from lack. If we are individuals - regardless of the Age of Aquarius or Armageddon - work on ourselves to balance this with soul, imagine the change that is possible.

This is a New Moon to lay intentions that live beyond external validation, the wants of the ego but come from a place of radical truth with you - not as an individual but as a part of the whole. Just imagine the ripple effect right there.

New Moon Conjunct Pallas Athena + Hekate

With Pallas + Hekate sitting with the New Moon we can be guaranteed we are at a cross roads, at a personal and collective level. We can take the path we’ve always taken, or we can go right. Taking the path that will lead us into a cycle we haven’t experienced before. This is Pallas Athena’s hope, as the fearless warrior within, she lives to lead us into places we’ve never been before.

Be that new levels of consciousness, new realms of ideas, or even as simple as coming home to the place within you that is eternally still - the ultimate radical move. In truth it might feel like we have a choice on the direction we will head, but Pallas will ultimately lead you towards the unknown.This is a New Moon to see fear as a product of our ego or identity, when it’s existence is being threatened, to feel that and to keep moving forward. By forward I don’t mean into some kind of future, but rather into this very moment and into a way of being where your very existence is always of benefit to the whole. When you are in a state of deeper awareness, you have a profound energetic effect on everyone around you.
